The Google Ads Research and Insights team has their fingers on the pulse. They analyse data sets of billions of new search queries and consumer behaviours each month to develop a deep understanding of key market trends.
In July, searches indicate people are looking ahead in spite of the continuing pandemic. People are exploring their career options as companies move towards returning to office work and more job opportunities become available. We’ve seen a spike in searches for things like “job application,” “work life balance,” “follow up email after interview,” and “how to write a resignation letter.”
Consumers are also seeking more clarity about the requirements for post-pandemic international travel, with growing searches for “passport application,” “visa requirements for,” “need passport,” and “for international travel.”
At the same time, people continue to be intentional about spending, with searches including “loans for students,” “no fees,” “second hand stores,” and “buy now pay later apps.”
We’re also seeing growing searches for “sustainability,” “volunteer opportunities near,” “charity shops,” and “environment” as people look for ways to make a more positive impact in the world.1
