Interviewer: If you weren’t doing what you were doing right now, what would you be doing?
Ajay Thrivikraman: Probably unemployed, actually.
Ajay Thrivikraman: My name is Ajay. I’m the chief global officer for global clients at Publicis Singapore.
Interviewer: What’s your professional superpower?
Ajay Thrivikraman: My team, the people I work with.
Interviewer: How do you shake off a creative block?
Ajay Thrivikraman: Talk to people, actually.
Interviewer: What’s the best career wisdom you’ve ever received?
Ajay Thrivikraman: Hang in there.
Interviewer: The hardest career lesson you’ve learned?
Ajay Thrivikraman: To be patient.
Interviewer: What industry topic do you wish people would stop talking about already?
Ajay Thrivikraman: What comes first — technology or humanity — or whether AI is going to replace human beings. I think we should be past that.
Interviewer: What comes to mind when you hear “machine learning”?
Ajay Thrivikraman: Opportunity, if used well.
Interviewer: “Programmatic”?
Ajay Thrivikraman: Scary sounding word but very effective.
Interviewer: “Future marketer”?
Ajay Thrivikraman: Jack of all trades.
Interviewer: What’s your worst habit?
Ajay Thrivikraman: Procrastination.
Interviewer: How do you keep up with the latest trends?
Ajay Thrivikraman: I’m just Googling all the time.
Interviewer: How do you stay inspired?
Ajay Thrivikraman: Everyday life. On the streets.
Interviewer: Any parting words of wisdom for the next generation?
Ajay Thrivikraman: It’s gonna sound like a cliché but it's got to be, "Never stop learning." It really has to be that.
