Lucas Brinkmann: I like to transform.
I like to create, to move things.
This is exactly my task right now as a CEO.
Interviewer: What is your professional mantra?
Lucas Brinkmann: Being honest.
Interviewer: What’s the best professional wisdom anyone’s ever given you?
Lucas Brinkmann: Wow, that’s a good one.
I need to translate this from German into English.
Interviewer: Say it in German.
Lucas Brinkmann: Der Weg ist das Ziel.
[English translation: The way is the goal.]
Interviewer: When do you get your best ideas?
Lucas Brinkmann: Normally outside of the business, just having a quiet minute, either in the train or in the car or on the weekend.
Interviewer: When you hit a creative block, how do you unstick yourself?
Lucas Brinkmann: Listening to music.
Interviewer: If you hadn’t chosen this career path, what do you think you’d be doing right now?
Lucas Brinkmann: I would restore old cars.
I’m a fan of old cars since I was a student.
Interviewer: What do you like about them?
Lucas Brinkmann: I like old cars, because it’s exactly the contrast to the fast-developing throwaway economics today.
