As the delta variant threatens to slow recovery, people are deciding which activities they’ll return to in person and which they’ll continue to do from home. They’re planning earlier than usual for Halloween this year, already searching images for “family halloween costumes” and “costume ideas,” and making map searches for “pumpkin patch.”
Demand for in-person experiences continues to grow versus last year, as searches for “best all inclusive resorts” and “date night ideas” pick up, while growth in searches for “order food delivery” and “online dating” point to a preference for the convenience of online access.
People are still investing in their home improvement plans, no matter the budget, with image searches for “wood sofa set designs pictures,” “walk in shower ideas,” and “budget small bathroom ideas” all on the rise. Interest is also on the rise for services, as people begin to outsource tasks they took on while at home like “house cleaning services near me,” “laundry service near me,” and “handyman near me.”1
